Her last act was sniffing the vet's pocket and then happily gobbling 3 cookies before the sedative took hold and her head slowly nodded down until she laid her chin on the floor between her front legs, which is how she remained until the end, which was very peaceful when it came.
This morning it was strange coming downstairs and not picking her up off the floor so I could give her pills disguised as treats. It was odd picking up the paper off the stoop and not having her simultaneously step over it. And its strange to be sitting here at my desk without her sprawled across her blanket breathing noisily beside me.
And that's about all I am able to say about that.
Here is Olivia's tribute to Harley:
She will be sorely missed. Rest in Peace old girl.
